Kate joined Doggie Academy after completing her studies in dog training and behavior at CATCH Canine Trainers Academy.
She has a decade of teaching experience as a college instructor and is a dog rescue advocate who has owned and rehabilitated many special-needs dogs over the years, including her current dog, Batman. Kate’s most memorable rescue was Walter, a blind and deaf Boston Terrier, with whom she communicated using the sense of smell and touch. Kate was even able to teach Walter a few tricks!
She has volunteered her time walking dogs and raising funds for local shelters, including Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn. She is committed to helping owners communicate clearly with their dogs, regardless of their ages or past experiences, to build lifelong bonds through positive training experiences.
