Q: Where is the Brooklyn Dog Training Center located?
A: The address is 10 Whitwell Place between President Street and 1st Street. The closest train is the R at Union Street.
Q: Where can I find the BDTC regulations?
A: You can read all of our regulations right here.
Q: What vaccinations do you require?
A: We require that dogs be up to date on Distemper, Parvo, Bordatella and Rabies vaccinations or titers. Puppies must be up-to-date and on their way to full vaccination with at least one round of “puppy shots” after the age of 7 weeks.
Q: What is the age cutoff for Puppy Social?
A: Puppies must be under 6 months of age to attend a Puppy Social.
Q: What is agility & why would I take it?
A: Agility is a fun dog sport that has your dog navigating jumps, tunnels, teeters and more. It is a great way to keep a dog physically and mentally active, as well as build confidence. Agility relies on teamwork so you & your dog really learn how to communicate and work together as a team. Plus it’s cool to see your dog figure out that he can run through a tunnel.
Q: Is my dog too old/young for agility?
A: No. For young, old or physically challenged dogs we can adapt the exercises to fit their needs. We’ve had dogs as young as 6 months and as old as 11 years in class. We’ve even had a dog with three legs (and she was great)!
Q: Do I have to register for class or can I just show up?
A: Registration is required for all classes.
Q: Can I come by to see the space and meet the trainers?
A: Unfortunately, we are only open when we are teaching classes and when we are teaching classes we are unable to chat. If you would like to speak with an instructor, contact her directly to schedule an appropriate time.
Q: Do you rent the space?
A: We do rent the space for agility practice, events, groups, etc. on a case by case basis. Please contact Sarah with your request.
